Bananas.org member Alex Creighton http://www.bananas.org/member-alexizhere19 has been fighting a rare bone cancer for several years. Sadly he is losing the battle and his time is short. Please say a prayer and or send him and his family some positive vibes. His two passions are horticulture and the Grateful Dead. He has been an inspiration to many with his always positive attitude even during the toughest of times which he's had plenty of.

With permission from his good friend Ashley on 6/28/16
Please say a prayer for my friend Alex who is dying of stage IV bone cancer. He isn't doing well at all, after years of going down hill things continue to get worse. The doctors are wanting to call hospice in. He can barely eat anymore. He cannot get up and down anymore so he is basically on bed rest. Loses his train of thought very easily, hard for him to even have a conversation anymore, it completely wears him out. When I go to visit it's all he can do to look at me and talk to me just for a few minutes. It is so hard watching my best friend go through this & struggle so much & it hurts that there isn't anything I can do to help. We used to hangout & talk everyday. We used to go out and do things together all the time. He told his parents that he is tired & ready to give up. Please pray he finds a miracle or goes peacefully.

I don't believe I ever had the privilege of "knowing" Alex; he sounds like a wonderful young man. He is in my thoughts; he resembles my only child. I'm so glad he has family and caring friends in his life.

"Its with the saddest regret to have to announce Alex passed away this morning from his long fight with cancer. He was a person who loved his friends both in his town and the friends he made along the way through the internet. He was very fortunate to have great friends and family. The family is asking if donations would like to be made for his funeral expenses , they are asking for people to donate to his PayPal listed on his home page williamc112388@gmail.com
Alex was only 24 years old when he found out he had a rare form of cancer. He battled this for 4 years and kept a smile on his face. Alex always worried about others even knowing his fate. Alex was surrounded by his love ones as he took his final breath. He went peacefully in his own home as he wished. The family would like to personally thank everyone who has sent Alex Get Well packages and support through his journey. My mother has been receiving a lot of support through texts and calls which makes this more comforting to know all the love Alex shared but equally much in return. She may not be able to respond , but just seeing the messages is much comforting. If needing to speak to a family member you are more than welcome to message me , his sister Leesa at 8 0 3-3 7 1-9 7 9 2. I will do my best to respond . Thanks to everyone again. Alex is definitely flyng high with the Greatful Dead"

Back in the day we had a Chat function here that was actually used regularly. A bunch of us became friends and stayed up late having fun bs'ing about horticulture and other things. Alex was part of that group. He was also a really great person who expressed care for others during his fight with cancer. He became an inspirational person to me. He used Cannabis to help fight the cancer and I believe it helped prolong his life here. His positive and caring attitude while battling cancer talked the truth about his character. A true caring human being.

Alex, you were an inspiration to me and many others, thank you so much! Much love amigo!!
