I tried up loading pics but they just won't go so I put them on FB. IF they don't show here, let me know and I'll change the privacy setting.
So, What's Everyone think? I was given this small plant that I was told is Definitely a Truly Tiny. The woman is a customer in my store and said she has a Bunch of them and they are all about the size of this plant.

I THEN was in Walmart last week and they had pots of these REALLY small plants. Some even had offsets. I took one with a small offset and you can see it is a LOT smaller than the Truly Tiny. It is in the pot on the left of the Truly tiny that is in the ground! No idea if it will ever produce fruit, but we'll see

There is a series of super dwarf now. I understand they have only ornamental value.

Look like mine also. Most Truly Tiny are super dwarf cavendish. None of mine have ever flowered. I have seen pictures of them produce though.
I purchased mine as TT but think it's SDC too... They still look great and are pretty tough...

JP and Tytaylor77, You think they are both the same? The smaller (walmart plant) is half the size of the other.
The one given to me as a TT is supposed to bloom. The woman I got it from said she does get fruit.
Possible. TT and SDC fruit but it's possible that both are the same. Important part is that you've got 2 nice nanners!

Truly Tiny and SDC are different plants when sold by a knowledgeable seller. Whether the labels on your plants are correct is another story.
Be aware that "tiny" and "super dwarf" bananas produce tiny fruit.

That's the problem. Seller's knowledge, in my case, is 0... but they look so cute!!!

My understanding is that all those besides cheeka are all super dwarf. They are all super dwarf but not all super dwarf are ' Super Dwarf '.
Mine are under a foot and a half. I've got an unknown variety that is way smaller. It doesn't seem to want to go above 10 inches. It's very healthy though. If it fruit, I should get banana jelly beans! Lol!

Tossing this out in the fray.....
Generally Big box stores in Florida only sell the top four plants SDC, DC, Grand main, and SDc sold as Grand Nain.
More than likely your plant is not a "Specialty" plant, However when they are very young many look the same to me .......But the red in the stem .....Dwarf Brazillian?
But of course this all can be open for discussion.:08:
You can do some label research and see what the providing nursery grows and sells.:)
My photo has a small TT in the center with mature (for me) Little Prince at the sides and Bordelons in the center.

Great Idea! I will do that on Monday.
So, Maybe the larger of the two I have is a Truly Tiny, and the smaller one is a Little prince?

When they are that small ?????????:08:
Both plants are from local nurseries and are accurate.
Weatherbee nursery in Ft Pierce Fla
Pinders nursery in Palm City Fla
Walmart Nursery??????
You will know in at least 90 days what plant you have
Phooey. 2 years ago the big 3 sold a variety in my area. Now? Unnamed plantain and DC are my choices. I have DC and enough mysteries already.

My challenge Kat;, with the mysteries,:08: it will take me 5 years to know what kind of plant it is ......lol
My challenge Kat;, with the mysteries,:08: it will take me 5 years to know what kind of plant it is ......lolI need to take better care of my girls so they'll flower; that would make ID easier. The 2 by the back door are huge; one has fruit and the other looks like it's ready to bloom. Indeed, the suddenly large pup by the one in fruit might pop a flag this summer. BTW, why didn't someone warn me about how big dwarves get? Had I known I'd have planted them a couple of feet further from the door. (And definitely not in front of the hose bib.)

Those sure are some puppin' fools! Perhaps if they quit smoking they're grow taller?

Both of your plants are? One of mine is from a neighbor and only my really little one is from..... Sorry... Just realized I Said Walmart but it was Home Depot. But, I'm not sure if that tag has a nursery name on it... but I'll check later.
So, why in 90 Days?
Now? Unnamed plantain and DC are my choices. I have DC and enough mysteries already.
Same here! I keep checking every time I'm in Home Depot, Lowes and Walmart, and that's how I found this really small one. I doubt I'll find anything other than this really small one and an "Unnamed plantain and DC" but, I'll keep checking :-)
