OK
my neighbor was throwing out a nana with some roots 2 years ago or so.
i had planted it to see if it would take
and to get some biomass for mulch and a bit of shade in the yard.

the mat has expanded a bit and at least 5 have come up.
i chop most down, since now i have a couple of plants that grew
and i dont need the shade anymore.
actually, as long as they stay short and dont inderfere with my jujube and my barbados cherry getting sun, i let them live for a bit, til they get taller...

anyway...
i had chopped one down at about 3ft tall
and now it just spurted out a flower.

do i leave it ?
will it actually produce fruit ?
will they hit the ground ?

Whatever the last pic is most likely is whatever I have for Ice Cream bananas, as the midrib on the new leaf and new leaf color is the same color as on my two...

Last picture is Tall Namwa. They grow like crazy. Keep us updated. I wanna know if those 3 small leaves will fill the bunch. You may have to prop it up. I have no clue what it's gonn do but I can't want to see.

Ttaylor... What is tall namwah, his or mine or both? I am quite certain mine are Namwah, hoping for dwarf as tall takes longer to fruit and is, well... tall... :D Hard to get to when harvest time comes... to take a hand at a time before ripening on the vine happens.

The last pic is the only one I can tell and identify. Looks exactly like my tall Namwa which I purchased as TC blue Java ice cream. As far as I know they do not TC ice cream or didn't at the time I purchased mine. They (agristarts) sell tall Namwa as ice cream. Which I hear is better than the real ice cream.

The first 2 pics are hard to tell what they are. Looks kinda dwarf. Open petioles so Maybe dwarf cavendish. They are really popular. Just my guess though. Hopefully an expert will see and tell you.

Tall Namwa I can tell by looking at them. They are exactly the same as mine that I see daily. Also dwarf plants are usually way more squatty and stout looking.

There is no red on the petioles of the short one... My cavendish have red edges on them... Or, do I have another mystery banana?
