Living on long island ny , the long winters made a huge fan of places with tropical climates so I've tried to bring the tropics to my yard.bananas are my favorite. Dittoes on the location question. I rehabbed an old 1800's farmhouse in Water Mill in 2004. Got quite familiar with the place, as I lived on location while doing all the work. Had some great neighbors too. Julie Andrews and Blake Edwards lived two doors down on one side, and Senator Roth (Roth IRA) lived next door on the other side. Actor Stratton Walling lived across the street from Roth and was a really nice guy.

I really miss that house. I wrote one of my books there, and used to love going up to the third floor to watch the trains go by in the evening. It was a great neighborhood, despite the fact it was in NY.
