Dug this one up from a yard my friend was renting at. Not sure what kind it is, or where to start with these.

Banana Plant Bunch and Flower

Is there a basic way to start categorizing? What are the steps you take when trying to ID a banana? Here to learn. Thanks!

This is a Cavendish cultivar, looks like 'Williams' or a similar cultivar, short but not a true dwarf, like your other "dwarf".

IDing bananas takes a lot of attention to detail, and seeing a lot of different plants. The best way I have learned is to observe many different plants with a verified ID, and then take lots of photos and compare details. It is also important to know which details are important and which are not.

This document details some characters which are more or less the most useful for IDing an average banana and can allow you to compare different plants in a standard way.
