I put a sheet/blanket thing on it for tonight which is supposed to get 36-37* just in case. Tomorrow I was planning on making something better out of visqueen (plastic). Do you think that would be enough? I would rather not dig it up already if possible.

I should have learned from last year. We had a frost about this time maybe a little later last year. I guess its not that long after the average last frost for here but it had been so nice the last couple weeks.
Wheres global warming when you need it!!

If you still have your Christmas lights get them out and wrap them around the base of the plants inside the covers. And don't forget to turn them on!

Oh I'm so glad I didn't plant mine in the beds yet. I've had them outside in pots. I had the first week of May targeted for planting anything tropical. I still have my tomatoes in peat cups and brought them inside too. They had leaf damage from the last cold night that they have finally pulled out of so the dining room has plants on and under the table right now.
I hope everyone's plants stay safe tonight up here in the north! All my lettuce has perked up and looks much healthier during this cold spell.
Good luck everyone!!!

Me and the wife spent an hour draping buckets, sheets, and tarps over everything we could. Got most of the stuff covered up but a few things will have to tuff it out. I've also got the garage packed with potted plants....again. I hate too gamble on frost, I've got way to much outside right now. Hope every one's plants make it through with out any damage.

I'm so thankful to be in Zone 8B. We had a scare two weeks ago, but we're out of the cold woods.

Here outside of Charlotte NC we hit a low of 37* this morning with light scattered frost here and there. I covered all the banana's, jade tree and even the tomato plants. I think this will be the last time. Sunny skies all week now and going to 80*. Red
