Beautiful, vibrant colors, :coldbanana: I really very much appreciate the pictures this time of the year, as we're still waiting on the snow and ice to melt, but it won't be long now :woohoonaner:

I stared at this for a couple years too:

Not bad, but the wait was sure worth it :)

Say hello to it's little cousin:

Nice! I've got a variegated pineapple also, but no flower yet. Mines different from yours though. The variegation is different from leaf-to-leaf, some being almost all white, with some having more green. Sure is slow-growing too! I put it in a big pot, but didn't seem to make much difference in growth rate.

My pineapple looks like crap right now. The best I could do for it was but it in a cramped little pot in my cold garage in the middle of winter (at least I live in California!:) )

A variegated Smooth Cayenne?
Yes. Typical descriptions of variegated smooth cayenne specify green with yellow ( http://hort.ifas.ufl.edu/shrubs/ANACOMB.PDF ) however, mine is certainly green with white. Does that make mine something different you think?

Thanks for all the comments! When people come over, they love looking at this plant, its right by the front door along the walkway and it gets lots of compliments! I love it, it was worth waiting for!

How long till you will harvesr the fruit? Alos have ever tried to force one to fruit again?

I'll just judge it by how plump it gets, if it gets a color change, softer, or if it falls off!
Maybe two more months or so till that happens. It's the first time its bloomed for me. It's got some slips that I would like to separate but those leaves have little razors on them, I'll need to put on a leather jacket or whatnot to get down at them!

Reason asked if had forced one before is that a grower around here said to lay a slice of apple in the center 2-3 days max. Making sure the apple slice doesn't rot while laying there! It should fruit again around a year for harvest.
