Hi

I am always trying to add to the collection. I currently have only hardy types of bananas in my zone 7. I mulch them and they come back in the spring.
I am looking to experiment. I managed a few years back to keep Musa Rajapuri in my basement (Corm dug up and dry, no water or dirt) one winter and the second year it died.
What non hardy banana have you dug up for the winter successfully (If you are in a zone 7 that's even better?)

Out of all my varieties the quickest to start growing after winter was my Namwa and Manzano. By far. They are about 2 leafs ahead of all my others. I'm 8b I'm sure someone from zone 7 will chime in and help. Most of mine are in the ground except a few newer ones. I haven't lost any yet. Even a few with no protection just lost leafs. We had a crazy mild winter though.
