Finally! finished the DIY Project Clusia plant front fence!....Yesterday (04/14/2016), I added more needed mulch....I planted a Clusia hedge plant to form a private fence when it grows (1 year to 1 1/2 year to grow) the same height as my front ornamental (black metal) fence.....

I got 3 different quotes from gardening contractors (materials and labor): 1st. quote $2,300.00...2nd. quote $2,500.000 and 3rd. quote $2,300.00. I told my wife if we can try it and do it ourselves!....Well, We spent only $700.00 in materials (Clusia plants, organic soil and mulch)...A total of 116 feet of planted Clusia plant front fence (124 Clusia plants 3 gal. each)....

This is what it will look when grows up!....A very nice and dense front private fence!...Just need to be trim to look like a private wall!....Safe for the kids to play!.....

I scratched off this one from the "house to do list".....done!....now to the next project!.....

Smaller than it should be because it was was in a small pot until last fall. Growing well now. I have tons of variegated things. Even my lawn.

Is it me or it could have more space between them and also with the fence?
Looks good though.

Thanks JP!

I planted the Clusia plant close to each other (no gap/space between them), so when they grow it will create a more dense private wall. I am seeing it planted at least with a small space between them, here in South Florida and it will have a small gap, space when it grows!....I am trying to avoid that!....

I was curious... I'm not familiar with that plant ans know nothing about it's growing habit but it does make a nice fence.
