I picked some up to plant this past week but have not idea what I have. The 2 reds are nearly 5' tall, very stout and heavy; the yellow is more like 20" and much more petite. Not sure if location of stores help but red was procured in Kissimee and yellow was purchased on Merritt Island.

It can be near impossible to distinguish cane into varieties. They all hybridize and most do
Produce seed.
If you get some heirloom varieties you can sometimes have names attached though.
And sugar producers have their named variety but they are often just numbered.

Shoot! Why did I think SC didn't get mixed up with bees and people playing bee but were only propagated vegetatively? Stupid on my part. Yes, what I grow will remain the same as these parents but it's a shame to lose old types via non clonal reproduction.

Nice. Whatever the variety, they look nice and will make nice plants.
