Here should be a pic of my recently acquired Ice Cream banana. It came nice and green and healthy. I have treated it the same as I did the Manzano I now have a bunch on which has grown great since I planted it last year, along with the other "Ice Cream" banana that has since died. It's death began the same way, new leaves pale turning brown and crunchy. You can see some brown n crunchy on the tip of one of the older leaves, and the new one is sickly and pale... It has been in the ground about 4 weeks, now in well fertilized soil that I water well every other day as it is sandy.
Here is where the pic should be. As you can see it ain't here. I uploaded them to my own gallery, and it said the uploads were successful, but there are no pics in my gallery. I waited a couple hours, still not there. SO, I guess you hafta use your imagination.
If they ever show up, I will post here.

First to your issue about uploading photos to bananas.org:
There are actually two steps involved when uploading. When you get the message that your photo was uploaded/submitted successfully, you still have to wait a moment until you get redirected to a new screen where you have to click on "process". Only then your photo will show up in your gallery and from there you will be able to post them.

In regards of your banana plant (BTW: where did you get it? Is it the "real" Blue Java?), it sounds that you have probably overfertilized and/or overwatered it. It is usually stressful for a plant to be put in the ground from a pot. It has to develop new roots and corm mass first. Never fertilize such a plant before you see new growth like a new cigar leaf. Water sparely or the pre-existing roots and corm might just rot away.
Other question, how big was it before you planted it in the ground? If it was a tissue culture, those are much more sensitive.

I tried it all, even a different browser. Sometimes it says it's processing them, sometimes not, but always takes me to the page where I should be able to see them, and they aren't there... Anyway, I was wondering about overfertilizing as the culprit. They (One Sweetheart and one Ice Cream)were supposed to be tissue cultures from Green Earth Publishing and looked real healthy and were forming corms, as the Ice Cream has pups already and a fairly thick stem (About like my thumb) I put one bag of the manure with compost (.5 .5 .5) in a hole 1 foot deep and 3 round, and mixed it up good, (Pure sand here, otherwise) then a bag of the compost with manure (.05 .05 .05) as a mulch. They were bigger than the usual tissue cultures others sell which are only about as thick stemmed as my pinkie finger. Plenty of roots in a 4 inch pot. Did the same with Manzano last year and it went nuts!! It flowered in about 9 months and has several large pups. ... I will keep trying with the pics.

In that case they're too large. Scale them down to something like 540x720 and try again.

Alternately, upload them to a site like photobucket and simply include the link to your photo to your posts here.

Here is a pic of the plant. All but the last leaf or two were on it when I got it. It is supposed to be Ice cream... You were right, the images were too big.

Yeah, congrats. There is the photo. But that plant is certainly not an Ice Cream banana plant.

Here is another angle of the leaves. Niether pic shows just how much paler the last leaf is. The tip of the new leaf coming out seems to be brown already as well. As for the species, I was afraid of that, as I heard the labs where the cultures came from even got it wrong. What do you suppose it is? I have heard they are usually namwah... Also hear they are better tasting anyway.

Has anyone here succeeded in fruiting one of these? I have asked about getting a small hand, and know several people here had some growing in 2012. so there should be plenty...Nobody has said a word...

Just hold off the fertilizer and sparely water. Your plant will grow out of it.
Difficult to say what variety you have there, but my Blue Java has never shown red splotches like your plant. Actually none of my Namwahs have it either. Could be a Cavendish variety or one of the red bananas, but I have no idea at this point.

Yes. Many people here work full-time so don't expect answers every day.

If the plant was moved out in full sun it may be sun burn. If it's been outside for four weeks just leave it out. I would water only once a week only if dry a couple of inches down then not too heavy. Planting in a very loose soil that doesn't retain water. Needs excellent drainage. Be patient your plant is not dieing yet and doesn't look that bad.
