Had some nice sunny days so I took my musa basjoo out of hibernation and put them in the sun. Little did I know that there would be a frost the next morning. Waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa. Now the whole plant has gone black. Is it dead or is there anything I can do to revive it ??

No. I'll take one in the morning. Both of them are completely black. I'm kicking myself cos they were nice and green before

You should be fine with some minor frost. If it got really cold you could be in trouble. Remember below 32f and you are basically guaranteed to fry the leaves on bananas.
Basjoo? I wouldn't worry about a small frost...

I've been trying to upload a photo of them but the system won't have it for some reason. One of them is a bit loose in the soil now so I presume this one has died. I've tried plant food etc but still no improvement
Leave it there. Let nature take care of this one.

I was thinking to try repot them and put some manure in the bottom of the pot. See if this has any effect

If it's loose in the soil the corm is rotting or rotted.
If they aren't active don't fertilize them. Don't know what the temps are there but until the soil warms up they will stay dormant. Best thing to do when they are dormant is leave them be and protect them from freezes and frost and let them do their thingI don't even water mine for a while once I uncover them because the spring rains seem to provide enough with the temps not being overly hot.

Temp at the minute are low at night but no frosts. Day temp don't go much higher than 10 degrees C. I've left them alone for about a month now and still nothing

do you have any pictures ?
They won't come out of dormancy until the soil warms up.
I would keep them from getting wet until it gets warm. Cold and wet is bad.
Just cause the outer part is moldy doesn't mean it's a loss you could still have the inner part that's good. Without pictures it makes it kinda hard to tell what things look like.
