You're welcome good people!
I was a victim myself. I was demonstrating how to graft asian pears, european pears, apples and quinces together, then a friend told me about grafting bananas and bamboos together. It made me scratch my head and then burst into laughter when he showed me the evidence.
Anyway, I meant to share the recipe with you. The best to use is a semi-ripe saba fruits, those that have yellow and green color on the skin. These will have the appropriate firmness. The ripe ones are not good to use for banana-que.
Basically you peel off the fruits, then roll them in brown sugar. Dip fry in oil until sugar melts. While still hot, take the caramelized fruits and roll once more over brown sugar and "graft" them unto bamboo sticks and serve while still warm or hot. Excellent snack.
