Hi All,
Can anyone recommend a site that sells these seeds? Ready for my Koi pond!
Many thanks in advance.

Carpy would you not be better off with a plant ? A T. rex from seed will take a fair while to grow into a decent plant.
Try Mulu or Amulree...........palm centre at richmond had lots last week too when we visited.
Shame you don,t belong to the Hardy tropicals forum.......there are always plants floating about at the meets.

How about sources in the US? I also wouldn't mind trying some seeds, since I haven't seen plants readily available.

Plant Delights (http://www.plantdelights.com), but that is for plants of it.

I'm not sure if 'Steroidal Giant'= 'Rex' and if you got seed of either, I doubt that they would come true to type. I think they are both two giganti clones of Tetrapanax papyrifera.

I think I am right in saying that Sterioidal Giant is different to Rex. I think Rex has bigger leaves and a deeper cut to them. I have 3 but they are still smallish.
They send up runners and pop up all over the place but they are easy kept in control with the mower :2723:

I thought I remember reading somewhere that steroidal giant and rex are one and the same.If they do differ its not by much.
I normally get loads of pups popping up all over the place in the spring due to root disturbance when lifting plants in its vicinity. So will no doubt beable to send one your way then Carpy.Or if you can make it to a HTuk meet get one in person.

Wll, the deal is, We aren't sure if they are the same or not because Rex isn't available over here on this side of the pond.....for right now. I've got a guy in London who has one to send me though, so the mystery is still out for a bit longer.
