I'm in coastal Georgia & only have 3 plants (so far). Trying to stick w/varieties that are hardy to zone 8b 'cuz my greenhouse is small & is reserved for orchids.
But I like to push the envelope & see if I can overwinter plants outside that are "borderline" for my zone. Sometimes I win & sometimes I lose.
I had the url for this site from a seminar I attended last year on growing hardy bananas. (In partnership w/UGA, the Bamboo Farm & Coastal Gardens in Savannah is doing research on growing hardy bananas as a crop in GA.) My visit today was precipitated by wondering how far down I should cut the stalks back after our frost date (usually March 15th). I'm sure I'll find the info I'm looking for.
