i had my basjoo in a storage room outside here in seattle, it is not heated and it has been cold lately at night in the low to mid 30's. i bought it in november on clearance it was outside at a nursary and the leafs were dieing. i decided to just put it in my storage room where the temp is around 35-40at night to over winter it and plant it in spring. i then changed my mind the other day and brought it in to give it a jump start on spring since it has a baby pup that was not doing well in the cold and i wanted to see how tall i could get the mother. it is as of now around 3feet in a 6 gal pot. it had a green leaf that was dyeing coming out and i checked it now after 3 days in my bedroom (wich is hot by others standards between 75-78). i loooked at it and saw a few beads of water on the stem and the dyeing new leaf was nolonger half dead but almost completely dead. i found this odd since it had been unchanged till now since november. did i shock it with the warm temp? is that possable? or is it geting ready to grow again? help?!
thanks for the advice!

Hi mate im new to growing bananas so i can only give you my experiance im affraid.I have done the same thing as you brought them in the house to start them of.I wouldn't worry about the old leaf's dying mate if you look you should see a new roller comming out.The only problem i'v had is the lack of daylight hours so the plants don't do as well as thay would in the garden.I hope this helps my friend im sure sombody with more experiance will be of more help. However good luck...daz.:choochoo:

Your problem is lack of light and dry air.
