its a bug.. i hate bugs.( except beneficial bugs!!!lol) it looks like a piece of rice on the underside or even the topside of the leaves. it sucks all the juices out of the plant and can kill a plant just like aphids do. there is of course a better description of what scale is i just dont know it. lol

Today was a plant bonanza, but not from Lowes. Our Fred Meyers store had its grand reopening sale today. Buy two plants get one free, plus a $10.00 off coupon. Two super dwarf bananas and a croton (plus some groceries) are basically free.

Then on the way home, I stopped at lowe's for my $10.00 off plant sale. The manager said he would honor it, so I happily picked up a dwarf cavendish and saucer. The cashier's refused to accept it, said it expired on 1/16/08. And even though the manager would take it, they won't. Then they kept the coupon. So I left the plant and saucer there. Afraid I was a bit peeved. Worse than that, the cashier followed me outside and took down my license plate number!! When I got home, I called the manager to complain about the treatment. He told me his name, said he would give me $10.00 off my next purchase with them. We'll see if that happens.

Don't forget the best part. I got two new super dwarfs!! And a Croton. Doin' the happy dance thanks to Freddie's.
