Costa Rica: banana exporter Earth gets Eurepgap certified
Tholen – The Costarican banana exporter Earth (Escuela Agrícola de la Región Tropical Húmeda) has received the Eurepgap certificate, which is deemed indispensable for banana exports to the EU, for the third consecutive year. The certificate covers 100% of the production acreage of 279 hectare. The entire acreage is used for the cultivation of bananas. The company Earth annually processes 600K boxes of bananas, with the help of about 200 employees. The Europgap certificate is an addition to the ISO 14000 and SA 8000 certificates which already decorate the company.
