Hi-I am a new member. Not very good at typing or using the computer. I live just outside of Phlia.Pa.-Churchville-Bucks Co. This past april while in Clermont Fla. I bought two musa basj. at the Walmart on rt 27.They were 3 ft. tall and had 2 in. caliper. They grew to 10 ft. and caliper of 9 in. Needless to say I am now hooked on bananas. I hope to get them throught our 6b winter.I am going to try to start some other hardy types from seed this winter.I will keep you posted. Thank you. Stan.

bananastan-67 how did I protect my basjoos? I cut them off at 5ft.-then wraped old towels around p. -put sending uint from wireless thermometer 6in. above ground -then bubble wrap -6 bales of hay and then a 10 by 12 tarp.It seems like a lot to protect a plant that only cost 7.97 . I just hope it pays off in the spring when I unwrap it. {wirless thermo.at radio shack-20 bucks) Bales of hay found in curb side trash after halloween. Thanks everone for the warm welcome.Have a merry Christmas and a happy new year. Stan
