I've grown a lot of plants including musa down through the years, but I need the excellerated course in banana identification. My expertise is Cycads, and I've grown palms, aroids, agaves, bromeliads, cactus, and many other plants. But, now my attention has turned to bananas having recently aquired two Ae Ae's , and a Siam Ruby. Of course I have some cavendish and some Paradisaica growing here also.....but there are many other kinds of musa I would love to learn more about and collect also. I live in zone 9B in Central Florida and Have currently 13 acres of plants and plenty more space to use for planting bananas, etc. I have an excellent invironment for bananas. Robert C.

Well, Robert, first of all, congratulations on your aquisition of not one, but two, Ae-Ae's!!! :2748: This website is a great resource as there are a lot of very knowledgeable people here who can help you. I'd also suggest the book entitled "Bananas You Can Grow" by James Waddick. It can be purchased through www.stokestropicals.com as well as through Amazon, I believe.

Good luck and welcome to the group!
