Me too. Got about 4 hours sleep last night. I'm too old to be pulling that kind of crap anymore. Where are you attending, and what year are you? I'm at UT, and am now finally a junior. I'm on the 19 year plan, lol. Started college in the fall semester of 1990, and should graduate in Dec. '09. I did take about 15-16 years off though...
Out of 5 classes, I've got one grade so far already. Funny too, because she was the slowest teacher about posting grades during the semester, but it only took her 2 days to grade the final. For a Statistics teacher, you'd think she'd be a bit quicker during the semester! I'm on pins and needles waiting for two of the grades to come in though. They could go either way, A or B, just depends on the final. I hate waiting!

I'm a Plant Sciences major. I was on the Science and Biotechnology concentration, but came to the conclusion this semester that I just didn't want to be in a lab for my career, so I'm back on the Production Hort. concentration. Business minor too.

19 yr plan...ha ha ha.hopefully it wont take me that long...im not takeing extended breaks like you.lol :0513: im going to nscc in cookevegas. im a freshman. by the end of next semester ill have 33 credits, i guess thats a sophmore, ill only have 27 left to get my a.a.s. in criminal justice. then when thats done i only have to get 15 credits above my original 60 to recieve my a.s. in csi. ( they are offering a total of 25 credits i want to take for my csi degree, but i only have to have 15) :08:. then after thats done...i only need between 15- 19 credits for my b.a. that i want to get at u of f., home sweet swamp! this was my second semester. i walked out at the end of last semester with a 3.5 gpa. and was asked to join the honors society. i wanted to join, but i would of had to miss a mid-term....cant do that! im contesting a grade in my c.j. class. my teacher is a proscuting att. for warren co. tn. hes an @#$%. you disagree with him (freedom of speach act) and he tries to screw with your grades. i took it to the assistant directors office and logged a formal complaint and a written complaint.now their gonna investigate. when you start talking about your constitutional rights being violated they get a move on! we took out algebra final tonight and they said they would start posting grades tomorrow. this is worse then waiting to take your finals.:2190: this was how ive felt for the last 2 weeks!

i spent a lot of years in the lab, i prefer the greenhouse and the field a lot more. production is a good hort route - i've had a lot of students get hired before graduating going that route.

You know they have a C.S.I. school right here at UT! Supposedly one the only schools of its kind in the country. They have "The Body Farm" over across the river too...pretty creepy. They bury bodies in different ways to see how they decompose. They even leave them sitting in cars for several weeks! Can't imagine living downwind from that.
Botany was fun. Take the second semester if you only have to take one (the first semester is all bacteria, algae, viruses, bryophytes, gymnosperms, and such. Second semester is angiosperms). At least that's how it's structured here.
That stinks about your C.J. class. I took an online Bioethics class this semester...last time I ever take a class online!

im still trying to decide where i want to do my intership at. i was think about the morgue or tbi. i sure dont want to work for the local law here... BAD JU- JU! i also thought about the marshals service, just not sure yet. our next semester starts on jan. 14, 08. its a nice little break. get my head back on straight after taking 4 finals in less then a week. uhhhhhh. lol :bungejumpnaner:. ever feel you were at the end of your roap?? lol

i know about the body farm. i think it would be great to go out there and just look at the decomposition in the different situations!! i wanted to go on a field trip and my mother says im just not right. i told her id pack her a lunch, she hung up the phone on me. i didnt understand why. i have to take ethics on line. real thrilled! im gonna take as much botony as i possible can. plant freak here. unfortunatly i have to start w/ bio 1. that i cant help. i like alge..i have plenty growing in my aquarium! lol. lol. lol. havent had time to take care of that.:ha: viruses and germs....hummmm

Yeah, I see dead bodies frequently around here. LOL! Seriously, one of the buildings where I work (the Botany greenhouses) is split into two sides. One side is the greenhouses and Botany labs, the other side is the reptile room and anatomy/physiology labs. The ventilation system is kind of weird, so every once in awhile you catch a nice whiff of formaldehyde from the corpses they bring in from time-to-time. Not at all pleasant. Combine that with the occasional stench from the reptile room, and you've got yourself a combination!
I took five finals in the last 4 days. My mind is about to shut down I think.
Inkcube, that's nice to hear about prod. hort. students finding jobs before graduation! I enjoy labwork every once in a while, but like you I'd rather be in the greenhouse or the field.

yummy yummy what is that "wonderful" aroma? lol. nothing like the smell of famaldahide with your morning cup of joe! couldnt resist that one. getting a job BEFORE grad...wow. its shake and bake. i would rather work outside then in a lab anyday. thats why i didnt want to go into the forensic depts. i just want to find the evidence. yeah right. they gonna have me in a lab coat chasing the little white mice around the wheel.

i know you are right. the one for my cj, well i aint going there. my crininal evidence teacher is from miami-dade. he is a hoot! he was in"law enforcement" for 25 yrs. we had a blast in his class. there is only 2 of us in there who want csi work, so he brought a actual csi video to class.
disclamer: this is not for the weaked stomach people.
were talking blood-spatter, brain matter, the works. in his class i sit in the back, and was halfway over the table to watch this video. he walks past and says enjoying the movie? i told him yes, wheres the popcorn, and hush i cant hear it. he thought that was funny. i have him for 1 or 2 classed next sem. im glad this sem. is over but i cant wait to start the next..you get interested in this stuff and it goes by really quick because you enjoy it.

miss anna....geology? wow ive kind of been interested in that. sizmic movements of the tectonic plates...just had to throw that in there. lol. that would be kool. how may more crds. do you need to grad? you should do it. the longer you wait..the more they add to the courses. when we lived in san diego (i was 13) i wanted to go to sdsu. now im all grown up and want to head to gainsville for grad school. what school did you attend? or should i say be returning to? you never stop learning and if you have a degree to back you, the skies the limit. im doing csi to further my education into the rather extensive field of...... growing nanas. have to support my nana habit some how. and were talking big money. my mom has property in putnam co. fl. about 30-45 min. from U. of F. i told her i want it. its 3/4 of an acre and there is elec.. i told her i want to build a 2 br., 1 bath, kit. she said that would be good. then i told her i wanted a sun room that was 25 ft. tall and 1400 sq.ft. attached to the house.( the house attached to the sunroom??) she said why build a house at all just cordian off a corner and i can live in with the nanas. i thought that was a good idea! you should consider returning to school, but only if it is something you love to do. if its not find something else your interested in.:08:

i have to take bio 1, and i have decided im taking botony! ........
I can still remember my botony class taken about 30 years ago. Can't say I really enjoyed it....my crop science courses were more practical and enjoyable. The thing I remember about the class is something kind of weird, though. The professor taught us a formal defnition of a seed and a less formal one, and we would get rated correctly if we gave either. I went with "a baby plant in a box with its lunch". lol
Congrats to you and bigdog on the grades and getting a break!
mskitty38583

ill have to remember that one. i hear the bio1 botony instructor is a hoot. plant in a box w/ its lunch. whooooo.:chefnaner:. ill be taking my botony probable this fall along with my police firearms class. that way if i dont get a good grade....so much for the tire on someones car. JUSY JOKING! i was told id like the class from a friend of mine. thank you for the compliment. its hard work. i thought growing nanas was hard work. OH BY THE WAY! one of the ornatas that i got from taylor, has started to green up. ssslllooowwwlllyyy coming out of dormancy. the roof, the roof, the roof is on fire, we dont need no water let the ........burn. lol. i like raise the roof, lower the floor. was out digging plants this morning and the elderly people who live around here, drive by my house all the time just to see what i am doing in my yard.( had a car full of elderly people almost drive into the ditch looking at my flowers last spring. i think that was the best compliment ive ever had.they do the same with my moms yard ) and when they went by the house this morning they drove by real slow...like 2 mph to see what i was doing. i think thats great. they enjoy my flowers and that tickles me sooooo much. if my blood, sweat, and tears, brings enjoyment to someone, and to see the smiles on their faces, its worth all the blood, sweat and tears.
