I just made a simple frost protection to my bananas and citrus a makeshift clear plastics.
Luckily last night 12/12/07 the low was 29*F and I peeked this morning and they are all OK, no brown spots on the bananas and the new buds of my citrus are still green.
And of course the majority of my potted bananas and citrus are inside my enclosed patio which are more fully protected and they are all OK.

You know, something I noticed with the local citrus after last years arctic blast was that it got a lot sweeter.

Now that you mentioned it, you are right Mitchel. I thought my citrus are going now on 3 to four years old so that as they say, the citrus get sweeter after 3 years old.
I noticed the full difference in my last year's crop.
I am enjoying the taste now maybe as you said because of the arctic blast.
before last year, they taste bleah!

Also, here in So. Louisiana, the sweetness always goes up after a little cold weather, then the Citrus gets really good. - keith
