Mskitty,

You'd love my job, then! Horticulturist for a large park in Houston, TX! It is fun but some of those days about June-Sept. really get hot! All-in-all it is a great profession, though!

Where in TN is Sparta? I grew up in Western KY about an hour south of Paducah.

its about 1 1/2 hrs east of nasvegas.then when you get to cookvegas you go south 15 minutes. and you are in the capital of "oh my gosh cant you at least do the speed limit" ville. its a small "city". its not a bad place to live but there are no jobs here, unless your kin to someone, married to someone, or...well you get the idea. needless to say im unemployed! i go to school full time. its amazing how much you can streach out a subsidized student loan.. i know how hot it can get in tx. we lived in coppras cove and in lampasas for a few years. my youngest was born at ft.hood. and yes playing w/ plants and grass all day would be a very awesome job! im a plant freak.

first steps for landscaping your old beat up back yard. How to go about it?
I become very confused about where to start digging, planting, to the point of frustration. Love to work in the yard, but landscaping gets the best of me because I do not know where to start and I do not possess good imagination either. Help?

have you thought about doing a rough sketch of what you would like to see in your yard? or how you would like it to look? i dont "landscape" but i do a rough sketch to see what i would like to plant where. youd be amazed at what you put on paper and you can change it with an eraser, instead of having to dig up plants. just a suggestion.
