I just moved my citrus and bananas inside my patio and I enclosed it with clear plastics due to the low prediction last night but it did not come true but my plants are safe now.

I had my fingers crossed...that must have been the reason. My sad looking 'Valery' looks almost glad to be dug up, potted, and dragged into the garage. By far, it's the most sensitive to cold. It got leaf burn at 40 degrees. Most likely not from frost, but from sunlight damage. The others are looking a bit spotty, but overall, looking pretty good.

Also in the garage are 'Brazilian', Dwarf Red', 'Saba', 'Double Mahoi', 'Praying Hands', 'Orinoco', and a small 'Ice Cream' pup, my Plumerias and a couple Helliconia. I'll dig up my 'Zebrinas' on Tuesday or Wednesday.

The rest are big, staying in the ground, and will get some Christmas lights, plastic bag covers, heavy mil black plastic ground cover, and some asphalt and concrete from my driveway around the bases for thermal mass. Unfortunately, the Asphalt is pretty big and thick, so will be a pain to move around. This'll be my first winter in the ground and I am interested how well they will be protected.

I have an idea for a PVC pipe framed makeshift cover/greenhouse for the full size plants that I hope to get up in the next couple days. We have some strong winds sometimes, so I am working out an anchor system and structural requirements. The way I figure it, the better protected they are, the sooner they'll take off and the faster they'll grow. I'll post some pics on Wednesday.

I hope everyone's bananas hibernate well...

Do you know if Belle is pretty hardy?
I have it planted on the ground and I just cover it with clear plastics. Is that good enough or do some more damage control?
