A friend has just bought 8 acres of land with 3 streams running through it - lots of big trees too. The streams have crayfish and eels in them. It is a gorgeous piece of land and he has 10 heifers on the grassland.

A neighbour has cleared his land and is growing bananas, but I couldn't ford the river and climb the barbed wire fence to get closer!!

The pictures don't do it justice really - I would kill for that land!!! Of course they had to hack their way in behind a gang to see it initially - covered in passiflora right to the tops of the trees. Going to be fantastic as he will keep it fairly natural and concentrate on native and fruiting plants.

its nice when someone buys a pice of land, and is going to leave it basicly natural. that is what the earth is for, growing things. natural beauty is better then anything in this world. glad hes not building condos!

glad hes not building condos!

That's happening to all the farms / coastline / back bay(swamps)! Its sad, but it all comes down to money.

Oh, Wow!
Then you can plant bananas there as many as you want?
But of course, cherimoya, mangosteen, mangoes, guavas, etc... and so on and on....
So it really cost them to buy that piece of paradise. (How in the heck can I post a little

He is going to develop it a bit like a botanical garden with local plants but not very formal. Every type of local tree/fruit will be there as well as coffee grinding/tasting and every fruit in season. He is being really sensitive to the area and keeping all the trees of value and age. Any spare key limes will end up there!!
