A big hi to you all! Great site, and I love those smilies

I hope you can help!

Well I have taken the plunge this year and planted a musa basjoo, and potted an ensete M. I have dealt with the musa, but have got to the stage where I have cut off all the ensete's leaves and dug it up and hung it upside down in a shed for a week.

What do I do with it now? What medium do I use to store it? Is it OK in a dark garage that might dip below zero on the odd occasion? How and when do I bring it back into life? Oh, and I think I cut a new leaf before it could unfold, is this OK?

Sorry for all the questions.

All the best,

Steve

Hi Steve. Whereabouts in the UK are you? Makes all the difference on how you treat your nanas.

Hi again,

thanks for the welcome everyone!

I am in the west of Norfolk, so it's not like the warmer south.

Any info on the questions I posed would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers,

Steve

welcome jolly old chap. Theres loads of info on this site. Just take a look around. It might be a bit redundant to answer all your questions here when the answers are on other post here. Good luck, and once again welcome!:2201: MG

Hi again Steve. Just west of Norwich eh. Not so far from me then.

Regarding your ensete, you've done the right thing by hanging it upside down to drain. Now, you just need to put it somewhere cool (not cold) and dark to let it sleep. I put mine in my attic, wrapped in fleece. The leaf you cut should be fine.
