Here's a sample of what's to come how I will protect my bananas. I'm bending the leaves of my bananas to protect the p-stem and then soon I will wrap them with canvas or maybe just old newspapers and then clear plastic. I will put a garbage bag liner on top and perhaps Christmas lights on top of the soil.
Please comment if this is a good idea.

Good idea Benny!!!! How cold is it going to get where you are? Canvas would work if it is breathable. Newspaper might be better since it can wick some moisture and more readily available. Plastic bags are easy to work with vs plastic wrap which could let in the cold between the layers depending on it's thickness. Whatever you decide I'm sure you will take good care of your bananas.
Valerie;)

thanks Island Casie and Valerie.
It does not get too cold here maybe 2 to 4 times a year it goes below 34 degrees but the tempt hovers around the low 40's most of the time at night and around low 60's at daytime. And thanks for the good info.
