WOW! It is awsome to see a plant get that tall and BLOOM in a container like that. I wish that I could figure out how to translate her site , it's really neat .
Thanks Florida !

Hey Pete... just copy the link into yahoo search do the search and on the results page it should come up with only one entry... and it will be just on the right hand side it says 'translate this page' and wah-lah!, English.

Very nice plant by the way.... Florida, have you told her about bananas.org?

Ask her to join up and post more pics so that we may be able to figure out what it is... I am curious about it... I have been looking in my Musalogues to try to ID it but can find anything that matches real well, the closest thing would probably be a Musa 'Manzano'.

Here's a link to it in the wiki:

Mhm... manzano seems a bit to red for this Musa...
What do you think about Musa orinocco? Could this be possible?

Thanks Oliver

The color is really what threw me off too but those short fat angular fruits don't really look too much like orinoco to me... but I can't be 100% sure of anything at this point. Does she have any more pics.

Guten Morgen, Oliver!
Es freut mich sehr dass ich die shoene Bananenfotos sehen kann.

As far as the fruits are concerned, they are very similar to those of Cardaba
which is very cold hardy and so it could be possible to fruit even in Germany
algthough I don't know in which condition you succeeded in fruiting.

The color of the flowers and shape of the fruits look like Orinoco to me. That is really tough to actually get one to fruit in a container!! Good job!

Hmmmm... They don't look like Orinoco to me because they are so plump. But I'm just going on my own plants. But... I don't fertilize like I should. I'm trying to do better. :dreadlocksnaner:

Maybe an old form of Orinoco, that went to Greece instead of Brazil way back when.
