Would anyone who has purchased or won or been given one of my Pisang Klotek pups please let me know how they are doing. If they failed I have a new crop of pups coming up and I'd like to replace any failed pups.

Mine is doing great Mitchel, thanks again!
It's still potted up as I've been deciding on where to plant it...
It has, however, already pushed up a pup of its own!

:ha: Mine is doing well so far as i told you in my thread. Its still potted but has grown to be about 1m tall and its a beauty! I am preparing patios for ground planting my bananas in a few weeks and its definitely going to be ground planted very soon! I would say its the most beautiful banana cultivar i have so far! :)
Thank you very much again Mitchel!!! :)

Mitchel, you're a Great Grand Pa now with 2 new nice size Pisang Klotek Pups doing well. Poor parent took that 55MPH winds a few weeks back lost 10 leaves and shredded the rest, Darn! but its doing better now... :08:

Wow! Getting a huge pup is paying off. I'm pretty sure you'll get fruit next year. :)

2nd bunch is about 4 months from getting ripe. 2nd generation is much taller than original plant, and more hands.

I thought yours would have fruited by now but maybe it's for the best that it doesn't, for a few more months anyway.

Second generation from Bananimal!
Doing very well about four and half foot tall potted. Will come in this winter and be set out next spring. It is a very attractive banana. I'm greatful to you and bananimal for sharing this treasure.

I sold/gave away 4 PK pups this year and I am amazed at how difficult it is to dig out the pups.
The sucker connection to the mama runs much deeper that any other I've grown. And the roots are like thick cables and long.
Little guys are no problem. I'm talking about 6 and 7 ft pups. The 6' digging bar with foot assist wouldn't work so I used 2 pick mattocks. Punched into the ground on opposite sides of the pup and pull the handles in opposite directions.
A bit tricky solo. I push one pick with my foot -- and with an arm around the mama to keep balance push on the other pick by the free hand. With one foot on the ground I pull the pup up with the balance arm - still holding on to the mama.
Get the picture? The mama, pup, the picks and me start to wobble all over the place and my wife starts laughing. When the thick roots show, several are so long and thick they have to be chopped with an ax to get the whole thing out. From now on they come out at 4 ft. Ay, yai, yai!

I haven't separate any pups, but I noticed that on the PK that Mitchel gave me there was a pup starting, and it was essentially growing from the bottom of the corm, rather than the sides. I can see how that would make it tough to separate the pups!

Four folks got Pisang Klotek pups from me this year. Nick, Charles, a club member and my Certified Organic Nursery buddy.
Can't wait to see how they do in the 4 different locations tended by different people with a wide range of knowledge and experience.
And I expect to do much better next year as my regimen is changing to completely organic. Wait till you see the Imperial Star artichokes - they will get installed and raised 100% organic.

Awesome Dan, if we all share it they will become a common plant for people to easily acquire and enjoy. :bananas_b

I planted it at my house. I still hope to have examples of 25-30 varieties at my house.
