That is AWESOME!!! If you don't mind me asking how much did you pay for it? I may have to go get one.
It looks like it'll do the job for some of the less sensitive bananas but some that are particularly cold sensitive it might be a problem... i.e. rojo's.
just my opinion but you might just have to chance it to find out for sure.

Where do you live?
It would probably work great. A friend of mine has a similar structure, with a frost-guard heat-source in it.

:2738: THANKS FOR THE REPLIES! This greenhouse cost $2000.00. I've been skeptical about the heat cuz its plastic. ive been afraid of what the cold and a heater would do to it. Iam in Ohio and it gets wicked cold here! :2141: I looked at another site and they suggested putting a clear swimming pool cover over it, and bales of hay around it to keep the heat in. The cover would be a bit difficult since its huge. But for my nannas I'll do it. Now i have all winter to research this thing and see all what i need! Iam concerned about drafts {hence:pool cover} I bought this GWhouse a couple years ago. I never really used it to grow plants,But since falling in love with these tropicals I feel now it has a real purpose! I always wanted a GH, and when i saw it, I was like WOW! I figured it would last longer than wood, looks good, roomy. I fiqured i could start seedlings in the spring.
But since meeting the bananas I've been wondering could this thing actually keep them pretty all winter!! Ive really really goneeeeeee Bananas. Iam reading things I wouldnt have thought about 4months ago. These plants have saved my life! I have been on a downward spiral because of events in my world, and when I saw the bananas, they gave me a spark of JOY, I hadnt felt in a very long time. This site gives me something to look forward to everyday!!! The friendly replies, Great Great info, and the beautiful pictures makes my heart glad!:)
I feel like I came home again. LIke iam waking up! Know what i mean? Did not mean to rattle on, just want to say thanks again to all my Banana family!! Magicgreen

Klemmthamm I was looking at your photos and noticed a banana plant in a pot buried in the ground. Other than the obvious that its easier to dig up{i guess} What are the benefits to that method?MG:o

Gophers can't eat all the roots and topple them :D that was the main reason for it...

Ideally, you want to keep it in the 40-50 degrees range over winter. I am sure a small space-heater or greenhouse frost-guard will do the job.

THXS MrBungalow for the info. Iam off to checkout a frostguard now. The greenhouse is made by Thinkingoutside.com The site shows the GH real good. And that is the way it actually looks! I emailed them about heating it. Waiting on a response. I Had some workmen put me down a concrete pad first, and then they assembled it in about 4hrs.{3 men} But Iam really curious to see if I can make this thing work for me, and a dream come true!:woohoonaner: Have a great day everyone!!!!!!!!!!
