I found out that Calif Gold is the least of the bananas that gives out pups.
I have one that is fruiting and the fruit are almost ripe and it just gave just one pup right now. It is now less than a foot tall.
I bought this when the plant had flowers last November of 2006 and I accidentally broke the corm when I dug it up so I planted the main corm separately from the P-stem of the banana and after about 6 months it gave off one pup and is now about 3 feet tall.
I am expecting for a 2nd sister to come up but none so far. The corm is huge but I am wondering why it does not give off another pup. Unlike my other kind of bananas. I have pups that I don't know what to do with them. They gave off pups like there is no tomorrow. They are less than 2 feet tall but giving off pups like crazy. They looked just like pups themselves.
Here's my Calif gold in the center. On the left is dwarf Brazilian and a calif gold fruit on the right.
