hello...im new to this forum, actually im new to the banana world. i recieved my first nanna tree about 1 mo. ago. then i bought a cavendish red dwarf. then i bought a humidifier,a thermostat, and covered my windows with clear plastic to keep out any drafts, and then turned my den into a small greenhouse. now all i need to get is some grow lights for the winter, and lots and lots of information. i can pretty much grow anything (ferns NOT INCLUDED). the tropicals are very adictive...i have found this out after 2 nanna trees, white and grey batflower seeds, white bird of paridise seeds, and jacaranda tree seeds, and a majestic palm. so its nice to meet others who have the same addiction that i have.

Now I have 14 new kids at once, and we were empty nesters!:06: :ropingnaner: Also have to mention iam also attempting to grow bananababies from seeds !!!! yes actually i do love cats. i have 7 that live in the house and 5 that live outside. (i dont like rats, or mice whatever you want to call them. dont like snakes either, so they take care of those problems. i dont have mice in my house but just in case...) thats one of the reasons my den has become my greenhouse. cats love dirt and i love my banana trees! thank yall for the warm welcome. i am a member on another site, and their products are great but the return on the forums leave a little to be desired. i just found out a few days ago the fred had spider mites. i wasnt very happy, but what you gonna do? so i went and got some spider mite spray, sprayed it to the point of run-off and then sprayed charlie (my dwarf red cavendish) i even sprayed geroge( majestic palm). i know its probably kind of corney but i name my plants and i talk to them too. now i have to go to lowes and get some perilite and cactus mix to fix my dirt. i used really great potting soil, and i think thats why freds leaves are turning almost a brite orange and turning a little crispy on the edges.( it looks like someone spackled fred with orange paint.) it could also be the mites. it said on the spray to respray in 3-5 days so ill do that before i go to school tomorrow. i feed fred and charlie shredded cabbage, i lay it ontop of the dirt close but not touching the stalk, thats how my friends in florida feed theirs. i do love the tropicals, i think thats because im from florida. and the leaves- their just amazing. yall have a good day and like i said before, thanks for the warm welcome.
