I have 3 pups in 1 gallons. My cousin is bringing me them when he drives up from florida in a 2 weeks. He these are off of 2 of his older mother plants. There is 4 total but I am keeping one. I will try to get pics up of them as soon as possible. I will be selling the other 3. I figured I would post here before I put them on ebay. Thanx. If I get alot of people responding I guess I will sell them who responds first.

Mike,

Has a price been determined?
Do you think your cousin would be passing through NC on the way to Ill.
How large are the pups?

Looking forward to your responses

I second that. I would not buy from E-bay either without any knowledge
about the sellers reputation. Especially when it are expensive trades.
In any case, I would not pay in advance.!!!!!!!!

I'll pass, Mike. I'd prefer to pay upon delivery and think my track record here and on eBay supports that, but you do not and I understand. I think I will be making a trip to southern California in a month or so and know of a reputable nursery that will sell me one for $125 and that gives me a plant known to be disease free.

Good luck to you and others.

Mike_J

I told you I understand your point of view and it makes perfect sence, but If I send it to you and it gets damaged on the way to you or miss placed or anything at all you wont pay me for a lost plant that cannot be replaced by me. That is all I am trying to say.

Brian all I am getting is 4 for the money he owes me

harveyc

Mike, a plant of this value should only be shipped insured. That's included automatically with UPS and doesn't cost much with USPS.

I have sold over $15,000 online in the past 6 weeks with no complaints. You can check out my PayPal record if you'd like. In fact, I shipped out a $59 order this afternoon without receiving payment yet and will ship out at $64 order tomorrow without receiving payment yet because I trust those customers. My record speaks for itself.

In any event, I would only be interested if I thought I was getting a decent deal and I'm not interested at these prices since I don't know the status of the plants, phyto doc, etc.

Harvey, is this seller in the San diego area? I know of a seller there who has Ae Ae at good prices.

Will you be driving or flying? If your driving please stop by for a soda! I'm on the way and very freeway close.

Mike, I was secretly hoping that you wouldn't try to sell stuff on this forum. But since you are, I feel compelled to say this to those who have contacted him:

DON'T BUY ANYTHING FROM HIM!

He is not to be trusted. I have caught him in a lie before, and also caught him doing some shady stuff. I will elaborate:

1. A couple of years ago, he made a post on the banana forum on Gardenweb, claiming that his Musa basjoo had spontaneously sprouted a red pup. The picture that he had as "proof" was that of one of the red cultivars, and obviously to the trained eye not Musa basjoo. But he insisted on it anyway. Here is the thread on gardenweb (http://forums.gardenweb.com/forums/load/banana/msg0919484827254.html)for you to follow his lies. Here is another thread (http://forums.gardenweb.com/forums/load/banana/msg0816573016050.html?2), related to the last one.
The blank pictures in those threads were of one of the "Red" cultivars. Now, there is another story about this banana incredibly! And on this very forum too! Check it out (http://www.bananas.org/showpost.php?p=16552&postcount=24). It is the same banana (and same picture even) from the Gardenweb posts. And here's another link (http://exoten.dyndns.org/cgi-bin/hardy.cgi?function=2&index=84CD3F3AF3356B91)to some archives of the HP Board, where he talks about getting the banana in FL or CA. At least four different stories.

But that's really nothing to be too concerned about. However, there's more!

2. About a year ago or more, give or take a few months, a poster on the HP Board told everyone about an older gentleman in MS that had a field crammed full of big Needle Palms, and that he was selling them for ridiculously cheap prices. And he was! So Mike made a trip down there to bring a few back to Chicago. Nothing wrong there... Then Mike made a post on the IPS Palmtalk forum that blew my mind when I was alerted to it! He stated that HE had a field full of Needle Palms in MS (http://palmtalk.org/cgi-bin/forum/ikonboard.cgi?act=ST;f=3;t=3415;hl=needle+palm). Not only were they not his Needle Palms, but he was blatantly trying to run a scam. He would sell one on the IPS forum and make arrangements with the buyer. Then he would call the old man in MS with the palms, and buy one from him at the ridiculously low price and resell it marked way up. So he wouldn't ever even have to see the palm. Basically, he was using the old man's field of Needle Palms as his own personal wholesale nursery. It would be different if he actually bought all of the palms and took them back to his own property and resold them, and perfectly acceptable. But this was just trying to take advantage of an old man! Thank goodness the old man had family with him that helped him with the business, and they were alerted to this shady situation.

3. A couple of years ago, Mike claimed on another board that he was getting some very large (6 feet of trunk) Trachycarpus takil imported to Chicago, and was trying to line up some buyers. Well, that raised some eyebrows for a couple of reasons! Number one, the seeds have only been available from Gibbons and Spanner since 1994, so these would have been from the original seed batch more than likely. But wait! Number 2...:2784: He was getting them imported from China! However, a little research indicates that Trachycarpus of this size are on the restricted list for import because of Lethal Yellowing. Another lie.

So, I would say to each of you that have contacted Mike, and to anyone who was thinking about it: Buyer beware! This guy is a sloppy, ignorant scam artist that doesn't know how to cover his tracks very well. Mike, I don't have a problem with you posting on this forum to gain or share knowledge, but I can't stand by and say nothing and watch you try to sell anything here given your shady past. People should know what kind of loser you really are. Who knows where the Ae Ae bananas in that picture really are? And wasn't it supposed to be four plants at first? I see at least 8 in that picture.

On the other hand, I could just be delusional about Mike and have him pegged all wrong. Those Ae Aes could be the real deal sitting at his house, ready to be shipped with care. Just consider the source you are buying from and what kind of person he is though, and then think about buying a $160 plant from him with money upfront. I'll pass, thanks. Better find some suckers on eBay, Mike.

Well we all know Ae Ae is a very desirable banana. So I think it would be a good idea to not have anyone selling it unless you have a track record that is reputable. Selling this banana for as much as a regular certified person is not right. Thank you Harvey for pointing out the business in California that is licensed to sell.

Mike, the insults used in your post are uncalled for... Frank is a reputable member here and you are not, plain and simple. If you wish to be taken seriously here and clear your name I would suggest maybe some face to face transactions with a couple of the members in your area so that a good reputation can be built.

This is one of the most civil forums I have ever been a part of and I refuse to let it become a free for all flamefest.

Frank did what he felt was in the best interests of his friends on this board... we are like a family here and he was protecting us.

Frank, thank you for alerting the rest of us to a possible shady deal.

Mike calm down take a deep breath... life goes on... I would like to see you still be a productive member of these forums and be part of the "family".

your a damn fool!! A LOOSER WITH NO LIFE.
I believe the correct spelling is "loser." True, I don't have much of a life, because most of it is spent in class at college, home studying for college, and spending time with my hobbies. Oh well, poor me.
yOU HAVE NOTHING AND ARE JUST JELOUS BECAUSE YOU ONE MORE THAN ONE OCCASION HAVE TRIED TO GET ME TO SELL YOU MANY iTEMS FOR FOR CHEAP PRICS.
Now Mike, you know I would never try to buy something from you, lol! Is your spell-checker broken?

Right, sorry about that Mike_J, or was it imcuban2? Or macario? Or Mike in Illinois? Oops, it's liza_jaramillo, right? For the record, I've never been kicked off of any boards.
aNYTHING i Have sold was the actuall product. You are are my own personal stalker still after all these years.

I think your lies and record speak for themselves, Mike. I'm not your personal stalker, but I feel like I should warn people about you. If you notice, I was civil with you when you posted on this board about your infamous red banana, because it was completely harmless. If you would have just stuck to posting about gaining and sharing knowledge about bananas and such, I never would have said a thing. You can still sell those great-looking Ae Aes on eBay I'm sure, and probably get top dollar for them, and I won't bother you one bit on there. eBay has rules and regulations to follow, so customers are protected (somewhat anyway). There isn't that kind of protection on this board. I felt like I needed to say something, given what you have tried in the past, Mike. You won't be able to try to scam somebody in this community.

Actually I am not mad at all , frank has been a memeber of several other palm boards and chat forums and has always been removed by the moderator or been chased off. He has sent me emails in the past for me and others to sell him something at the price I paid for it and I didnt thats why he is pissed. I can buy wholsale because thats my buisness. He thinks hes entitled to get something for nothing because hes a memeber of chat board. Life doesnt work that way. I have a great life and will continue to do so while frank is in the corner having his little fit stomping his feet so he can have his way.

Mike, I'd love you to produce one email that I've ever sent to you. The very idea that I'd ever try to buy something from you is quite laughable! A lie.

Again, I've never been forceably removed from any forum. Another lie.

I'm glad you have a great life, Mike. I do as well! Continue to believe what you want to about me stomping my feet in the corner. I'm sure it makes you feel better.

Mike, I personally don't believe anything you say, we have nearly 1200
members and alot of them are a member on all the wellknown boards.
You are the only one that knows that Frank is removed from other boards.
Well, I think everything has been said now, further posting has no sense
and will make things worse so I close this thread.
