View Full Version : Black stemmed edible, Lake Chapala MX

This was at a restaraunt in Ajijic, Jalisco, MX, just outside of Gaudalajara. It overlooks a really big lake (Lake Chapala).
What surprised me was that is had such dark stems, and red markings on the leaves. Sorry no bloom photo.

What is with dwarf cavendish? My also have this black P-stemp.
I think its is not an ele ele, because the leaves of ele ele have no brown stripes!

Looks like some kind of Musa acuminata type, probably in the Cavendish group. Nice pics! Keep 'em coming!

Maybe Chini Champa? Another member from Mexico (I think) mentioned these have dark pstems.

I think you guys might be about the Cavendish group, but not dwarf. Saw alot of other giant cavendishes, but totally green P-stems.
