Hi! I have recently planted a Maurelii and an Orinoco. At the Nursery they were in high light but crowded and therefore somewhat protected areas. We are in the Houston, TX area - it is still mid 90's during the daytime.
We had a bit of a domestic dispute - Husband insisted they be planted in the middle of the yard where the light is brightest and hottest. I thought they should have been put closer to another tree where the amount of direct sun would have been several hours a day less.
Well, he won and the plants, especially the Maurelii, have brown edged, drooping leaves. Even the new leaf that has come out now has brown areas.
The plants were lightly fertilized and rather heavily watered for the first week.
Will the plants eventually adapt to their new light levels?
Edit to add: There are photos in my photo gallery.
Thanks
