Here's another listing on e-bay for the "rarest banana seeds on earth".
Shame on them!

I don't know how to link this, but here's the listing to cut and paste into the browser.

They are almost always on eBay and he always uses private auctions so people can't warn poorly-informed buyers. Steve (MiamiMax1) often has competing auctions which are just set up to warn unspecting buyers. It's hard for him to keep up, though.

Here's the original discussion of this: http://www.bananas.org/showthread.php?t=1972

What a shame.
Everyone should write the guy a message and ask him to stop doing this to people.

I have contacted him so many times he won't return emails anymore. As for ebay...they just don't care.

I know... its spinning wheels..
I wrote him again a moment ago just for the heck of it...
Maybe he will eventually find it in his heart to stop.

That is ridiculous! Doesn't E-bay have a "False Advertising" clause or anything? Maybe we should offer to purchase some and then tell him we'll pay him with $3 bills! What a loser this guy must be to try and take advantage of people this way.

The rare variegated ae ae banana doesn't make seeds. It's as seedless as a chiquita banana. That's why the picture I took of has nothing in it!!!! That is why they are so rare, they are actually so rare that there isn't even one in the entire world!!!!
Anyone selling ae ae banana seeds on ebay is not selling you an actual ae ae banana seed. If it's even a banana seed you recieve, it won't grow you an ae ae banana plant. Save your money, or if you're that gullible, just send it to me to pay for this ad! If there really is a banana crossed with an ae ae, the plants will not be ae ae's.And if there were ones like that and 67% or so of them made variegated seedlings, I'd sure be selling lots of those seedlings on ebay, wouldn't you? Especially since they sell for around $300 sometimes. Please ask for proof before buying anything "too good to be true"--you know how that turns out. It's not true!
PLEASE, THERE IS NO SUCH THING AS AN AE AE SEED. IF THERE WAS, WE ALL WOULD HAVE THEM and grow them too!!!!!
This is a public service announcement by Northern Tropics Greenhouse, Muncie, IN, www.northerntropics.com (http://www.northerntropics.com/) --a LEGITIMATE LICENSED NURSERY DEALER and grower of REAL bananas, ones that have leaves, are actual plants and not made up hoaxes to scam you out of your money.

Also Please don't bid on this auction. I'd have to find a good cause to donate it to and I just don't want to deal with it.
This only cost me 20 cents and if it saves someone else some money and aggravation, then my deed is done.

Perfect!
Well done Sandy!

Someone that has some time to spare could buy some seeds from this guy and then file a complaint with the USPS for mail fraud. I once was the winning bidder on something on eBay that I later realized was a scam and didn't bother to send payment. I never heard back from the guy. Sometime later, maybe 6-12 months, I was contacted by the USPS regarding my transaction with this guy as he was being prosecuted for mail fraud. There was more money involved with those transactions and it was easy for them to prosecute since he just stiffed folks without sending stuff, but maybe someone at USPS might take this on. Just a thought....
