well, i just love this site. it's informative and fun....i live in southwest fl, south of sarasota..seems everything i plant grows like a weed.....i did get an answer of what to do with my bananas after my tree fell over..they are hanging in my carport and looking good....because my tree was given to me, i know nothing about it , type, care, etc. so you will be hearing from alot i'm sure....next i'll try to get picture of it to post and maybe find out what kind it is and all. thanks to the ones that posted info to me to help...much appreciated.

You can hang them in a garage or on a patio. No need to cover them.
In a couple of days you can cut off the top hand or a few fingers from it and bring those in to your kitchen to ripen fully. The ones at the top will be the first ones that are ready.
