When I'm comparing pictures of a Musa velutina with Musa ornata 'royal purple' on internet search engines. I mostly end up with flowers looking very similar to eachother.
Are there much differences between structure of their flowers?
Thank you

Thank you both for your confirmation about velutina and royal purple flowers. Some websites are giving wrong and contrary information, that is why I was confused.
Bye the way, beautiful pictures ;).

Greetings Yohan,
Thank you! I took those two photos, they are of my plants.
The links to the gallery are all the photos in the database that match those respective keywords.
The flower buds look a little different as you can tell.
The fruits are different as well, while the Velutina will plump with flesh inside that is edible but full of seeds (and very delicious), the ornata did not plump up for me with anything edible inside.
I'm sure if I had macro shots of the flower petals at the tip of the fruits those would probably show some differences as well.
I actually recently ordered new macro lenses for my camera, so in the future I will be able to take more good macro shots.
Greetings from Florida!

Keep up the good work Mediahound.
Your explanation together with the next upcoming ;) close-ups would be really helpful. :2223:
