First I must say many Thanks to the members who have helped me get a garden going this year. From arriving in the US in January this year to today there has been great progress in putting together a new plant collection after having to leave my French garden. Everything I grow is in pots and all started out small this Spring , I use 10 gallon pots for the bigger plants and five gallon for most of the smaller stuff.
Next year big Musa will move up to 25 gallon pots.

Thanks guys, container growing is a bit harder than in the ground , but with us having a house in France and a short stay here it's not worth buying a place here too. So container gardening is my way to go. As to the Winter question , well I'll be build two Hoophouse's in the back next month . One normal six of seven foot ceiling one about 11 ft . I hope to just keep plants alive but not growing much in the larger space. In the smaller space I'll keep the heat levels up and try to get some growth for next Spring. I'll put a fan heater in both spaces to keep conditions at 50 f or above. I'll expand the collection for next year and then I guess I better just work on getting fruit. When we leave all the plants will be up for new homes with members here. Mostly I'll give them away , perhaps sell the odd rare one. I guess people will need a truck to take the giants in 25 gallon pots. And then I get to start all over again in a different part of the World, crazy I know but that's our life.

Steve I have to say in the short time you have been there you have amassed a very enviable collection . They all look in pristene condidion too.
What is the Tall Musa in picture two ? and I do hope you can get your self a better wheelbarrow than the one in the picture as I can't see that one carrying 25 gallon pots...LOL .
Tha dark stemmed colocasia looks good too.

Hi Guys , Mark the Musa in pic two is 'Ice Cream' ...... or 'Misi Luki' or perhaps 'Ice Cteam' ,guess who lost the label :) . So glad to help with that ID. The Colocasia is Colocasia 'Big Dipper'
Next , pic one scene one is the Lovely Ensete Thai Superbum form our very own Gabe , it's my favorit plant because of the blue/white colour. And it grows about a thousand miles an hour :0490: .
Next , well I did not understand the question Tobias " What are the two Musas for a kind? " , if it's the two big red ones they are Ensete 'Maurelii'
If it's the two spalshed red ones they are just your normal old 'Zebrina'.
Thanks guys

Hi Tobi ,the one on left is 'Saba' the one on the right could be 'Misi Luki or Ice Cream , I'm thinking Misi Luki at the moment. Don't work about your English , I'm very Dyslexic so my English is not so great.
