I am banana newbie and have been visiting this great site for awhile. I have a small palm tree and rose bush nursery in south Florida. My banana interest started one day about 8 months ago. My brother called to ask if he could dump some dug up "banana roots", I now know they are called corms, at my property. I said sure, why not. Anyway I ended up planting them along my front fence, about 150', and low and behold they took off like nothing I have ever seen before, I had 15 fruit clumps on my last count. I am now hooked on bananas and am trying to aquire a few more varieties.

Hi Armando, great story! Welcome aboard, thanks for taking the time to join.
Looks like a nice harvest. Those are some good looking banana plants with a great yield. They must like the spot where you put them and you must have very fertile soil as well. The conditions seem to be excellent, way to go!
Post some closeups of the flowers if you can get a chance. Try to get the pictures of the flowers early on when the fruits are just appearing, then again when the bud is towards the end after all the female flowers are finished you will have the male flowers. It might help you with an ID, or at least eliminate some possibilities.
Anyway, welcome, once again!

Thanks. I will take a few pictures soon. I know the plants are "Thai Banana" and the first one was bought from Don at Going Bananas.
I just bought a Saba from him and plan on planting that one in similar muck soil. Eventually I plan to have a 300' row of Saba.

You are more than welcome to come by when I get that row in. It will probably take years though. I only have one plant right now.
