Hi all,

now I'm in Brasil in the state São Paulo, in Lucianópolis for 4 weeks. I will even purchase a house here in Brasil. I spoke with the dad of my guest daughter. He told that there are the two importantest banana varieties in Brasil grown. The "Banana Maçã" bears smaller fruits and tastes like an apple and is grown for the market here. And the "Banana Nanica" bears larger fruits similar Grand Nain or FHIA-01 and is grown in the state Paraná for the export to Argentinia. I don´t know which is really the Dwarf Brasilian, how is the cold resistance.

Best wishes from Brasil

In the next days I will try to take some pics from Banana Maçã fruiting plants.:2748: The neighbour of the family of my guest daughter is banana farmer and grows bananas. I will check his plantation and speak with him. Perhaps I will get some pups of Banana Maçã.

Best wishes

What could it hurt to get a few pups of both varieties? You know you want to...

My guess would be that M. maca is a Manzano type.
