Looks soon to me. Keep them warm and in as much light as possible.
How long did it take the little plants to get to the point shown in the picts? I have never tried the seed thing. But thinking about it. Good luck!

It took 1 week for the root to push out of the little hard seed
It took another week for the roots to come out it looked like a little spider
Then a few days for the upright sprout to come through
So 2 weeks and a bit

I have read that some banana seeds have taken more than a year to germinate. You are way ahead of the game. Good job!
So, how many seeds did you plant?
What cultivar did you plant?
What was your process?

I planted about 10 seeds
I used dried spaghnum moss which expand with water
I placed that in a Tupperware pot with seeds on top with lid
So they keep wet
I then placed it in a boiler cupboard unsure on the temperature
And then they started growing
The ones in germinating in dirt have no signs of life
Not sure what species they are tho
I'm now doing about 100 musa Veluntia seeds in the same way I hope some will grow

I have been reading about these Musa Velutina bananas, and it looks like they are a real neat plant. When they grow they kick butt. Bananas are tasty, watch out for the seeds. I really haven't tried the banana seed thing, but I might. The plant cool factor might make me try it. Yes, I will start looking for seeds.

The sphagnum method works best for me, I recently had 20 or so Musa Itinerans India form, and about 4 out of 10 Musa Thai black seeds germinate. I never had luck in soil. Since I had such good luck with the Thai Black, I ordered 50 more seeds from the same seller and started them a couple of days ago. It won't be much longer till yours get their first leaves. My India form are just now starting to get their reddish markings with this new leaf.

How do you germinate your seeds
Exactly the same as you do, but I give them temperature fluctuations of 80F degrees for 5 hours a day, and about 60F the rest of the time. I have good luck using this method, along with the sphagnum moss.

I buy them From Mark Davies in the UK. I always get good germination from this seller, and decent prices for more seeds. Takes about 3 weeks to get them to the US from there, but worth it.
items in store on eBay! (http://stores.ebay.com/Mark-Davies-Seeds/BANANA-SEEDS-/_i.html?_fsub=3093592011&_sid=59883281&_trksid=p4634.c0.m322)

The two big ones on the left are the yunnanensis, the smaller ones are cannas. But the banana seedlings are still small.

I only use it because I know it won't mould the seeds like dirt
