The past few weeks we have had some cold nights. We had one hour with temps at 33. Looks like we lost the Pisang Jaribuaya bunch and a few from the blue java.

The Mysore fell when we had tornados come through Sarasota, but there are still some green leaves. I just left the plant alone on the advice from others on the group (worked very well last year).

Valery Banana is putting out a new leaf after several yellowed after the cold.

This is the first year that I did not bring our miracle fruit plants inside. Thankfully, they continue to bloom and fruit well.

I'm across the state from you and was hit with that same cold front. The night before the front came through I wrapped all my bunches and blooms in towels or blankets. Didn't lose a single banana. Hope it helps the next time we get a cold front.

I am not looking forward to coming home. I am sure there will be lots of snapped an uprooted plants

I hope it's over. I have lots of huge oaks stopping the wind but they can't stop all of it. Some of plants started growing already and it may freeze tonight.

Geosulcata, your Mysore bunch looks good. The bananas are filled in enough and will probably ripen just fine if you hang them up in the garage.
The Blue Java is a hit and miss anyways, with or without cold damage.
Don't give up on the Pisang Jaribuaya just yet. I have a bunch of Temple bananas hanging in the garage that looks just like your bunch. The bunch was harvested out of fear of some cold December nights after only 3.5 month. There was some cold damage to the skins of the fruits, but they are turning yellow now and have a decent taste. I do not know if the cold damage makes them harder to peel or if it is characteristic to this variety.

I'm in the same boat as you... I have a number of plants that bloomed last month and the y mostly got burned. I'm hoping some will be salvageable but it has been a rough few weeks. Thankfully the threat of frost will be gone in a month or so.

The skin also clings on my jaribuayi... I love the taste though. Definitely the most tart banana I've had

Thank you for the great info! I had planned to leave the Mysore since the leaves are still green, but I will cut and hang them.
