Could be any number of things, but the fact that the newly emerged leaf looks OK is reassuring. Just changing the environment from outdoor to indoor (or vice versa) can stress the plant. If you don't have it on a heat mat and your house is cool, don't expect it to grow much or be very happy, and be very cautious about watering too much and don't fertilize much, if at all.

I agree with Mark's statements above, and in addition the low humidity indoors in winter combined with slow growth can cause some of the symptoms you are seeing. All things considered though the plant looks relatively healthy and doesn't appear to be in any serious trouble.

I agree with the previous posts.
At these consistent lower temps plants and dwarfs are not that happy.

60 F is ok for dwarf cavendish. I keep mine at 65 this winter.
60 F is ok for dwarf cavendish. I keep mine at 65 this winter.Heck, even 30 F is okay for a DC; I know because the one I had in Jacksonville, Fl survived that easily. (She was too big to cover completely so she had some frosted leaves where she got bit.)
Does nobody else have lower leaves wither and die on their bananas? I do. Even in summer my plants (annuals, perennials, bananas, trees) shed some older greenery. Bananas are not trees, folks. (Deciduous trees lose leaves all at once; even evergreens spit out needles.) They're herbaceous plants. HBs lose leaves--get over it. If your plant is pushing out healthy new growth, it's not dying; it's just not happy. Would you be if your natural living space was on a tropical island or somewhere with temperate climates and not inside some stuffy house being pestered by an "owner" who watched you like a hawk? I sure wouldn't be. I wouldn't die but I wouldn't be "smiling" either.
Don't water or fertilize too much. Give adequate light. Leave plant to do its thing. Peace out.

Thanks everyone it was humidity. I put in a humidifer and it seems to be getting along better. Will the brown spots go away though?

No... the spots are dead tissue and will always be brown, however the leaf will be replaced once spring comes and you take the plant outside.
you may chose to cut the leaf off once it has been replaced by new ones.
My dwarf plants look similar to yours.
It's between 65 and 75 degrees
That is a good range to keep your plant alive and well while it is indoors.
The warmer the better and the lights help too.
What kind of lights do you have?
How long will mine live for?
Both dwarfs and bananas live many many years.
There is a good chance that your plant will never bloom, which will increase its longevity.
The grow zone which we live in keeps the plant somewhat hobbled and can delay maturity by 3-5+- years
Once your plant gets established in a container it should perform well.:)

Double check the distance that is recommend for that bank of lights.....
They are leds yes?
If so you may move them somewhat closer...
Not sure ?.....check out YouTube for some great videos key word (led marijuana grow lights)
The same conditions that grow this plant will grow your banana plant also.
The reason I post this kind of information is .........this information is the MOST accurate to grow ANY kind of plant.....Including bananas.
The posters (fellas growing the cush) have a lot invested in their plants and setups as well as you.
My small three foot tree ferns love this growing method .

Yes they are LEDs. it's says 1 to 15 feet above mine is about two foot above it.
Generally leds are much closer.....say 5-15 inches above your plant material depending on the setup and other variables.
Here is a link that will help you possibly make an adjustment to your setup.
The information is general and easy to understand.
The same information also applies to our plants.
