So, apparently what I have (and always thought was Ice Cream) may be a tall Namwah. Does anyone in the Central Florida area have a real Blue Java pup? Or can I get one at a reasonable price from anyone online?

The color of the fruit skins is the ultimate confirmation.

Bryce,
I got mine from Fast Growing trees/Pam's trees.
Ice Cream Banana Tree | Fast-Growing-Trees.com (http://www.fast-growing-trees.com/Ice-Cream-Banana-Tree.htm)
Paid $69.00
Have read how others did not get the correct tree from other growers. Checked my tree for red on the leaf and everything is a dark green. So I guess I am in good shape.

Just curious as to why you're seeking out Ice Cream of all the kinds you could grow.

Honestly, more out of curiosity than anything else. Apparently, what I have is tall Namwa, which tastes great to me. I'm interested in comparing the Blue Java taste and also the blue fruit is pretty cool. I take it you're not impressed with Blue Java for some reason? I grow 7 or 8 other cultivars at this point and expect to have a few acres of land soon, so I'll have plenty of room.

They are a nice looking plant and the blue fruit are cool. There seems to be some clear division where people love them or think they aren't good at all. I'm generally not a fan, but have had some recently that were quite good. Usually I wouldn't even put them in my top 20. I used to think Namwah were in my top 5 but the more new types I try the further down the list they fall. They are still quite good though. Yeah if you have the room, might as well try to get them!

You can see my big stand in the front corner of this pic. These came from Mark Collins around 2004. I'll get some pics of the young plants coming up right now.
