How often should we fertilize container grown dwarf banana plants? From some sites I see once every month, once every watering or "follow the fertilizer label instructions".

What is the best way?

in winter almost never! If they are All ways in containers and all ways in side, depends on your lighting and changes in temp etc. If they are still pushing out leaves, they don't know it's winter so some should be ok.
All ways in containers but, outside in summer and inside in winter, once they come in don't do it but if you must, only if they are still growing leaves and then very very little. never fert at all if they are not growing.
It's a vague answer because of so many variables, pot size to plant size, soil type, plant type, plant age, plant thriving or not, lighting, type of lighting, temp, type of heat, type of fert etc........slow and steady, especially in the winter! you will get the feel of it, just err to under fertilize etc. til you are sure, that can't hurt.
