If the flower at the tip of the banana has turned black, does that mean the banana has finished growing?

That means the the current and future flowers are male. The bananas that you see are all that there will be in this bunch.

it will probably be 3-4 months till they are ripe....and he was talking about he waits till one of the fingers turns yellow then he cuts bunch down; you
will know when they get close will be real fat and plump an much fuller looking than they are now....

Ohhh! That is so exciting! I am so relieved to know that these are just male flowers and not female flowers that are not thriving. Now I am assured that the conditions are okay after all and things are going well!
