Ok here is the deal, I went overboard and with winter approaching I'm going to have to do something. I currently have a large plant building that works perfect in the winter . I heat it all winter and they plants do great! I have to decide which ones I want to try to fruit. I currently have Gran Nain which is currently my best hope. I also have. Viente Cohol , Tall Namwah , manzano , Red Iholene, gold finger , Thai black, ice cream, Dwarf Red, and last but not least Gros Michel! The Gros Michel is my prize banana and one way or another I will get fruit from it. I'm going to try to fit everyone in the plant building but it will be tough. I may have to store a few under the house. Any suggestions on what to do with all of these plants? My building was an empty structure that I turned into a plant building with skylights and a lot of windows. It's is 16 feet tall building and it really didn't cost that much to convert in to my plant building . I've used it for 5 years now and it works perfectly . I'm just running out of room. Lol

I would store your best, strongest plants first. If you still have room then the others. Any leftover pups you can send my way. You may consider bringing a pup of each into your house just in case of heater failure in your out building. I always try to have a backup plan. Nice collection of plants.

Got a great idea for you. Put what you can in your plant building. Get a phyto for the rest and ship it to me! Lol! I will probably have the same problem soon. I've got a 16x16 room in the basement that's going to be full very soon. I'll need a greenhouse soon!

JP, the first step toward recovery of banana plant addiction is admitting that YOU have a problem.
YOU have a problem.
I think I do too. Not really sure until I put mine away for winter. I am sure I need more. I will get more. I will plant more.

I think that is why the org. was created. A support group. Thanks, just having some fun. Do you want a Truly Tiny for indoors? They grow a little slower indoors but you can keep that banana plant growing experience going all year long.

The problem is not recognizing having a problem, it's accepting it and not wanting to change anything about it! Lol!

This recovering plant addict is so glad she limits her budget. If I can't find it for free, grow it from seed or locate neglected plants at a very reduced price, I attempt to find a way to convince myself I just don't need it. Am I bereft of plants? Absolutely not. There is no cure.

Addicts or not, we all share the same passion of this plant that comes in so many shapes and sizes. For some of us in the lower zones, this plant is 100% dependent on us for survival. It is easy to get rewarded with fast growth when the plant receives great care. I don't know how else to explaine it. The plants are a part of me.

No cure. Sorry.

No seriously, I second the previous comment about putting your most promising plants in your greenhouse and saving some small pups in or under the house, so basically you are not putting "all your eggs in one basket".

Yes they do. The good thing is that we can trade babies. Or hope to.:03:
