Important to remember that even if Erika survives as a weak, disorganized system that is still has the potential to cause flooding issues and be a significant event. We've already seen Erika do just that in the Caribbean. If Erika were to follow the current track, that would put a large portion of Florida in the heavier area of storms for a good period of time. Still need to be vigilant with Erika. GFS 12z: TS #Erika does not survive Hispaniola as a named system, or closed-low. Rain main threat in Florida

Of course we don't want the winds but bring on the rains...we are in such a drought here in eastern ft lauderdale. I bet every square foot could absorb a bathtub full of water without flooding

We are hoping for rain over here too. Plenty of rain to the south and east of us, but it misses us by just a mile or two.

I just biked (yes, pedal bike) about 6 miles knowing it's supposed to rain here again. It's sprinkling but nothing more. We're pretty caught up for now on precipitation so I'm rooting for S Florida to get at least 85% of Erika's watering. Since I'm gifting you the wetness I expect you to keep the big winds. You may send some gentle breezes if you want.

Hell No! Rain showers and precipitation, yes. But no storms or hurricanes needed in California. Are you out of your mind with all the wildfires going on here on the west coast?

The bananas here have been severely impacted by the severe drought this summer. It has been raining east, north and south of my property occasionally this summer but my location has received very little rain until recently.

well, you and me both. Remnants of Erika has supplied some rain, but very sporadic...still feeling the drought that south florida is in.....seems real rainfall seems to side skirt us here

Chance of rain according to the weather report was 100% for us today - yet, we haven't received one drop of rain.
