Please Help Me! Totally new to this. Ordered 12 new tissue cultures that were 12" tall. Kept them in a pot until root system was well established. Put them in the ground about 6 weeks ago and the plants are growing nicely and they have doubled in size but lately I've noticed that the new leaves are not growing straight up and opening. They are growing outward at an angle and they are staying wound really tight. I had to go out and open some of them up by hand and the next shoot is inside growing the same way. The leaves also seem really thin and yellowish. I have also noticed brown spots on the new shoots as they are coming out of the stem. Could this be soil issues? Disease? I did find black caterpillars munching away on the leaves and they were burrowed down inside the stem. I picked out the worms and I got something from our local nursery for caterpillars and sprayed the leaves and stem down.

I have no idea what your problem is but, You need to take a breath and think.
The more info you give here, the more you will get, pics , zone, type, etc. It takes quite a while to hurt them beyond relief, don't over react, that will kill easier than any detriment.

They could be over fertilized. That'll make 'em grow crooked.

It sounds to me like the leaves are being pushed up before they are developed. I had this problem with my aeae but it eventually worked its self out as it slowed down some. Mine use to have a section of the leaf that was really thin and transparent so it would brown and would stick and not let the leaf unroll so I had to help them out. After 3 or 4 leaves it was fine.
Are all of them doing this ?
Do you have any pictures ?
How often are you watering?
What zone are you in ?
